Purple Day Success!!

The Tanya’s Courage Trust are delighted with the success of our annual Purple Day this year!

We had fantastic feedback from everyone who attended as well as those involved. The town was certainly busy all day and the event was supported very well by the locals.

The total amount raised was a fantastic £1,423.57!!!!

We would like to thank each and everyone of you who were involved, whether that be by attending and enjoying the event, if you were performing on the day, had a stall or if you were a volunteer for us, you all made this event a massive success for us, so thank you so much.

A final thank you goes to our sponsors: St Austell BID, St Austell Santander and White River Place, thank you for the support you gave for this event, from start to finish!!

Barn Dance Success!!

Well, what can we say, other than a huge thank you to all those involved in the Barn Dance on the 7th March!

It was a fantastic night and it seemed like all that attended had a fab time.

A special thank you goes to The Hub Radio Station for all of your hard work, it certainly paid off! Well Done!

Here are some photos for you to browse.

Penzance Firefighters ‘Ladder Climb’

Penzance Firefighters recently organised a very successful Ladder Climb event in the Wharfeside Shopping Centre in Penzance to raise funds for Tanya’s Courage.  Staff and volunteers from our Penzance “Inspired by Joshua Jones” Shop were on hand to collect donations and run a tombola.  Many thanks to Penzance Firefighters for their much valued support,  as well as those who supported us with donations on the day.

Falmouth Fundraising Events

Tanya’s Courage has recently been generously supported by a variety of superb fundraising events in the Falmouth area, organised by friends and families of past & present beneficiaries: a dance & most recently a highly successful sponsored abseil at the Maritime Museum. Many thanks to all involved for support.

Penzance Fundraising & Helston Events

Staff and volunteers at our  Tanya’s Courage “Inspired by Joshua Jones” Shop in Penzance have not only been working very hard to bring you their usual excellent value selection of goods, while making decorative improvements to the shop, they have been planning and carrying out a range of local fundraising activities.  Mazey Day was a great success, with tombola, raffles, cup cakes & Mickey & Minnie Mouse raising funds & bringing our charity to the attention of many new customers. They also organised a store collection at Sainsburys in Helston – many thanks to both our volunteers & Sainburys friendly staff for such a successful collection day.

Helston will also be the venue for a Memorial Charity Football Tournament & Music Festival (in memory of Joshua Jones) at Helston Football Club at the end of August.  Details to follow soon.

Which brings us to an appeal.  Of course, we are always delighted to have volunteers who can give a regular commitment, but we also very much appreciate those who can only help occasionally, or even once.  For store collections and fundraising events we often need extra people while our existing volunteers run our shops.  If you can volunteer for just a few hours,  please contact us – your help would be much appreciated.  Or perhaps you might consider organising your own event?  Please ring, e-mail, or come along to one of our events.  We’ll look forward to meeting you!

Our Penzance Shop: now “Inspired by Joshua Jones”

Our Tanya’s Courage Charity Shop at 84 Market Jew Street Penzance has a new inspiration!

The shop is now Tanya’s Courage “Inspired by Joshua Jones” named in memory of one of our past and much missed beneficiaries.

Joshua’s mother Nicola Jones is now the Manager of the shop, and she and her team of enthusiastic volunteers would be glad to see you.  They would, of course, be glad to accept your donations to the shop and would be particularly pleased to hear from individuals and groups who would be prepared to help in the shop or with organising fundraising events.   We thank the public for their continued support for our Penzance shop and local fundraising, which has contributed greatly to Tanya’s Courage being able to offer help to thirty beneficiaries and their families in the Penzance/Penwith/Helston area alone.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Merry ChristmasWell, what a year it has been for The Tanya’s Courage Trust!

So this year we have had birthday parties raising funds for TCT, store collections, formed the Here 4 U Support Group, started our annual Purple Day, had four runners in the Brighton Marathon, hosted our first ever Baby Fair, collected on the roadside at Holmbush, equipped and decorated a room on Lowen Ward, our Patron James Morrison opened our room and spent the afternoon with our beneficiaries, hosted our 3rd Dog Show at Griggs, received support from The Central at Newquay, received a grant from HRH Prince of Wales Duke of Cornwall, received a donation of a selection of handmade handbags from Kernow Quilters, enrolled onto the Macmillan Cancer Support course, were the beneficiaries for The Proms at the Keay Theatre, employed our new Manager for our Penzance shop, built a relationship with Kernow Trek Lodge, received support from Padstow Girl Guides, and much much more.

WOW!!!! It really has been such a fantastic year for TCT and we couldn’t do it without our amazing local community and our fantastic team of volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this past year, and we look forward to another highly successful year in 2013.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year, from all of us at Tanya’s Courage Trust.
