Volunteers Needed!

We are always happy to welcome new volunteers and we have plenty of opportunities available.

Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people, helping the community and is great for your CV.

We have many roles available ranging from sorting through donations for our charity shop to helping with our events.

If you are interested in helping us in any way at all please contact us and we can discuss with you in full detail what is available.

  1. Hi, I’ve just heard that you’re opening a new charity shop in Penzance. I’m wondering if you need any help setting up, or just getting the shop going at all? I work at Artist Residence hotel/gallery on Chapel Street so I can’t volunteer full time but I’m up for helping some of the time if you need it? I could do some painting/decorating or making displays, or volunteer a couple of afternoons a week? I would love to work in a charity shop as it’s not-for-profit, and Tanyas Courage is a cause everyone will support if they know what the charity is about. Cheers! Angelica x

  2. Dear Tanya’s Courage Trust,
we are currently students studying citizenship at Penrice Comunity College in St. Austell.
For our citizenship coursework, we have been asked to present information about a charity that we feel deserves recognition and support from as many people as possible. Therefore, we have chosen your charity as we think the work you do is inspiring and will inspire others too.
We know Tanya was a student at our school a few years ago and the teachers here greatly support your charity as many of them knew Tanya personally.
We would like you to consider sending a representative from your charity to visit our school and give an assembly to our year 7 students, explaining what the charity is about and people who you have helped in the past.
The Head of Year 7 has agreed for us to present our charity on Monday 10th October and it would be wonderful if you could send a representative to visit our school on this date to aid us with our presentation.
    With hope,
    Josh, Peter, Jess, Kieran and

  3. Hi I have stumbled across your website in doing research for cancer support in my area. I am a 29 yr old mother of 3 who has undergone chemo for non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, I am in remission and want to use my experience to help and support others and their families in my situation. I found that there wasn’t the support out there particularly for my 8 yr old daughter who took it really badly, my sons were of a younger age and have not required the professional help that I have gone through with my daughter. Do you have any contacts or avenues I can go down in relation to setting up my own support group in my area (Devon) as I wouldn’t have a clue where to start! Thank you in advance for your assistance
    Kind regards Natalie Grute
