We have been chosen as Charity of The Month for Radio St Austell Bay for March 2012.

We were thrilled to hear we were being supported by our local radio station. Thank you to everyone at RSAB for supporting TCT.

Let’s Turn Cornwall Purple!!

Attention everyone this is very exciting: Pubs, clubs, sports teams, schools, colleges, businesses………………..LETS DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok people this could be big! A lot of you will know that we lost our beautiful Tanya on 7th April 2005. TCT has decided that it is time we marked this day as a charity because if it wasn’t for Tanya wanting to fill the gap in Cornwall for young people with cancer then TCT would not exist and cancer patients and their loved ones would still be fighting the battle alone! We have decided to try and turn Cornwall purple for the day. So please ask at your place of work, school or college if they would get involved. If everyone pays just £1 and wears purple for the day it would not only honour Tanya’s memory but it would raise much needed funds and awareness for the charity that was her wish! So come on please get involved. Purple was Tanya’s favourite colour so lets show her how much she is respected for her ambitions of changing Cornwall’s support of young people with cancer! It turns out that its a saturday. So this adds another possibility. Any musicians that have a gig that day could wear purple and explain to your audience why and maybe do a TCT collection? We should really do all we can to show Tanya how much we admire the courage she showed during her battle! xx

Brighton Marathon 2012

The Tanya’s Courage Trust have secured 5 places at the Brighton Marathon for this year. We are pleased to announce that our runners are: Dr Sophie Mepham (one of our Trustee’s and Patron), Adam Grindrod (our Vice Chairman), Scott Ladd (a past beneficiary of the charity), Charlotte Klein and Matthew Foley.

We are so proud to have a team of runners for this marathon, and cannot wait to cheer them on at the finish line.

Our second charity shop is OPEN!

Well, after just seven months of opening our first shop in St Austell, we have now opened the second shop.

After great discussions with the Trustee’s, it was decided that after the success of the first shop it would be a great idea to open another in a new area of Cornwall.

Our Area Fundraising Manager, Andy Jenkin, based in Penzance is managing the shop on a voluntary basis along with his partner, his assistant manager Kevin and volunteers he has recruited in the area.

The shop is located at 84 Market Jew Street, Penzance, TR18 2LG.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our Trustee’s who have continued to support us in everything we do, and for their help in bringing the charity from strength to strength.

We would also like to say a big thank you to Heather and Lay Estate Agents (based in Falmouth) for covering our disbursements towards the legal fees of the conveyancing which has been completed free of charge by Hine Downing Solicitors of Falmouth. We are so grateful to these two companies for their support towards our charity.

Street Collection – Truro

Bodmin Sainsbury’s Collection and Tombola

Street Collection and Xmas Raffle Prize Draw

Our SECOND Charity Shop!

Well, after just six months of opening our first shop in St Austell, we are now in the process of opening the second shop.

After great discussions with the Trustee’s, it was decided that after the success of the first shop it would be a great idea to open another in a new area of Cornwall.

Our Area Fundraising Manager, Andy Jenkin, based in Penzance will be managing the shop on a voluntary basis along with his partner and volunteers he has recruited in the area.

The shop is in the process of going through the legal terms with our solicitor, and we are planning an opening day of 26th November 2011.
